KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- Kuching City FC got their 2026/2027 Asian Champions League 2 (ACL2) campaign off on the wrong foot after suffering a 2-1 defeat to Cambodia's Phnom Penh Crown today.
After a scoreless first-half at the Morodok Techo National Stadium in Cambodia, the hosts broke the deadlock in the 55th minute through Moses Dyer.
Aidil Sharin Shahak's side then equalised in the 73rd minute through Adjin Mujagic.
Just as the match appeared headed for a draw, Dyer turned hero for the home side by scoring the winning goal in stoppage time to secure the victory.
Kuching City FC qualified for their first-ever appearance in an Asian continental competition after finishing as the runners-up in the 2025/26 Malaysia Super League season.
Drawn into Group H with Phnom Penh Crown, Hong Kong club Kitchee SC, and South Korea’s Gangwon FC, the Cats will next face Kitchee FC at Larkin Stadium, Johor Bahru on Oct 15.
