KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- The Labs at Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC) is showcasing Malaysian creativity through The Labs: Artist Series, a four-month creative takeover featuring six homegrown talents from Sept 12 to January 2027.
The series brings together four local intellectual property (IP) artists, namely Pasaroly, Guji Guji, Oh! Doodlez and The Good Boisss, alongside mural artists Jefr Studio and Novak Batik, with their works presented through installations, immersive digital experiences, murals and merchandise.
Eco World Development Group Bhd (EcoWorld) said that each IP artist will anchor a chapter around a festive occasion, with Pasaroly taking the spotlight for Merdeka, followed by Guji Guji for Mid-Autumn, The Good Boisss for Halloween and Oh! Doodlez for Christmas.
BBCC chief operating officer Azril Rashid said the initiative aims to provide the public with opportunities to experience Malaysian art and creativity beyond conventional exhibition spaces.
“The Labs was built for people to experience culture in ways they cannot anywhere else. With the Artist Series, we are handing the space to some of Malaysia’s most exciting homegrown talents and inviting the public to make, play and celebrate alongside them right through the festive season,” he said in a statement today.
The series, which forms part of The Labs’ wider ambition to develop the experiential hub as an urban playground for art, creativity and immersive experiences, kicked off with Pasaroly.
Visitors can explore the artist’s work at an exhibition in The Labs’ Ground Floor foyer, before experiencing its reinterpretation through an immersive visual experience at Zone 6 of immersify KL, followed by a curated merchandise collection at MM Cafe.
Meanwhile, Jefr Studio and Novak Batik have extended the creative takeover to the walls of The Labs through two mural works, adding a permanent layer of Malaysian artistic expression to the space.
The Labs is part of BBCC, a joint development by UDA Holdings Bhd, EcoWorld and the Employees Provident Fund.
