Terengganu Regent Graces SPAIT Graduation Ceremony

KUALA NERUS, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- The Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, today graced the Sijil Pengajian Agama Islam Terengganu (SPAIT) Graduation ceremony at Dewan Jubli Perak, Kompleks Pentadbiran Bandar Al-Wathiqu Billah, here.

His Royal Highness presented certificates to 356 graduates, including two overall top students and six top students in Fiqh, Tasawwuf and Tauhid.

He also congratulated the 356 students from the third SPAIT 2026 cohort, who had completed their studies within six years.

“I believe that this historic moment is not only a source of pride for the graduates, but is also shared with gratitude and joy by their family members, who have been a source of encouragement and support throughout their studies.

“Therefore, I extend my highest congratulations to all the graduates on their achievements. I would also like to express my appreciation to the chairman, committee members and all agencies involved in making this graduation ceremony a success,” Tengku Muhammad Ismail said.

Also present were Terengganu Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar; State Secretary Datuk Mohd Azmi Mohamad Daham; and Terengganu Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAT) commissioner Datuk M. Rozi Bidin.

SPAIT was introduced by JHEAT and the Terengganu Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIDAM) in 2011, to provide a special platform for more formal and structured Islamic religious learning for Terengganu residents aged 25 and above.

The programme is divided into three levels, namely ibtidai (beginner), mutawassit (intermediate) and mutaqaddim (advanced), and takes six years to complete.
