KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- The Royal Museum, closed since January, is expected to reopen on Feb 1, 2027, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.
He said preservation and conservation work on the museum is complete. Interior decoration and display upgrades are in progress and scheduled to finish on Jan 28.
"The ministry remains committed to ensuring this historical treasure continues to be preserved as a national heritage and an educational platform for future generations," he said in a Facebook post today.
The Royal Museum includes the Royal Gallery, the former official and private quarters of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong. It also has the Throne Room, which hosted important national ceremonies such as royal installations, conferment of honours, and official royal functions.
The museum was closed on Jan 1 for conservation, preservation, and building maintenance work.
