PUTRAJAYA, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- The Perlis Unity Complex, expected to be completed on Oct 19, will serve as a one-stop centre for unity services, education and community programmes.
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the development was among the MADANI Government’s efforts to strengthen the country’s unity infrastructure and ecosystem, particularly at the state and community levels.
He said the complex, the second of its kind to be developed, would house the State Unity Office, TASKA Perpaduan, TABIKA Perpaduan, Community Mediation Centre, Rukun Tetangga Centre, multipurpose hall and mini library.
“The project, which began on Feb 20, 2024, reflects the government’s commitment to providing a space that brings communities together, promotes interaction and fosters mutual understanding, harmony and a sense of belonging,” he said in a statement today.
Aaron said the initiative was also in line with the nation-building aspirations under the National Unity Ministry’s key agenda.
He added that the MADANI Government would continue strengthening such efforts through the planned development of the third Unity Complex in Bukit Besar, Kuala Terengganu, in 2027 under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
“These complexes will serve as strategic platforms to bring the unity agenda closer to the people while building a more united, harmonious and inclusive Malaysia,” he said.
