TFC Disappointed After Home Draw With Penang FC - Nafuzi

KUALA NERUS, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Terengganu FC (TFC) head coach Mohd Nafuzi Zain expressed his disappointment after his team failed to secure three valuable points at home in last night’s match against Penang FC.

The Kelantan-born coach said his players failed to put up a convincing performance and capitalise on the chances that came their way, resulting in the Turtles failing to score.

He therefore urged the players to improve their performance to ensure TFC can compete well and achieve the set target.

“It is indeed disappointing that we missed out on three valuable points at home. We have dropped five points in three home matches. We had several chances compared with Penang FC, but failed to capitalise on them.

“What I saw was that the players were not convincing and were rather chaotic. We could not launch good attacks. In the second half, our style of play improved, but it was not enough to breach Penang FC’s defence, which defended well as a unit,” he said after the Super League match against Penang FC at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium (SSMZA) last night.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw after both teams failed to score.

Meanwhile, Penang FC head coach Wan Rohaimi Wan Ismail said he was grateful that the Panthers finally managed to secure a valuable point after suffering defeats in their previous two matches.

He said his players deserved praise for showing great fighting spirit and making improvements in their performance.

“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful to have snatched a point from the opponents’ home ground. It is not easy to face a big team like Terengganu, but the players managed to do it.

“I hope this momentum can be maintained in the upcoming matches. I can see an improvement in the players’ performance. That is a positive development. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement for us to compete with the other teams in the league,” he said.
