GEORGE TOWN, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Gat Lebuh Cecil here will be closed for traffic for three days from tomorrow until Sept 7 to facilitate utility diversion works for the Mutiara Line Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.
Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) said the closure will affect the stretch from Gat Lebuh Cecil to the exit ramp leading to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
The closure will be in effect from 10 pm tomorrow until 5 am on Sept 7.
“As an alternative, motorists heading to the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway via Gat Lebuh Cecil can use Jalan C.Y. Choy, Lebuh Katz, Jalan Gurdwara, Lebuh Macallum and Gat Lebuh Macallum.
“However, the entry ramp to Gat Lebuh Cecil from the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway near SMT System Metal Technology Sdn Bhd will remain open to traffic,” it said in a statement.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when travelling through the area. Road signs and traffic cones will be placed at the site, while flagmen will be deployed to help manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of road users.
