KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 (Bernama) -- Tomei Consolidated Bhd’s GoldNow has introduced new Gold Gifting and Gold Savings features to further strengthen its position as Malaysia’s premier mobile gold accumulation platform.
GoldNow said the Gold Gifting feature enables individuals and businesses to send gold directly through its application (app), called the GoldNow app, from as little as 0.001g.
"This offers companies a modern, lasting alternative to traditional corporate hampers and rewards, while giving users a meaningful way to celebrate occasions with friends and family," it said in a statement.
For individuals, the feature offers a new way to celebrate birthdays, weddings, newborn celebrations, graduations, festive seasons and personal achievements, while introducing recipients to the value of gold accumulation.
"The feature aims to make gold ownership more accessible while encouraging a culture of sharing and long-term financial mindfulness among family members and communities," it said.
On its Gold Savings feature, GoldNow said users can accumulate gold consistently with small, manageable contributions, helping them build a disciplined saving habit and work towards long-term financial goals amid rising living costs and inflation.
It said users can create dedicated gold saving pots for aspirations such as Umrah, education, weddings or family milestones, making it easier to track progress towards multiple goals within a single platform.
"Each gold saving pot can be customised according to individual objectives and timelines of up to 120 months, providing users with a clear roadmap towards their future aspirations," it said.
To encourage consistency, GoldNow also offers an auto-debit feature that allows users to link their preferred debit or credit card and select a recurring contribution date.
Tomei group managing director Datuk Ng Yih Pyng said the introduction of Gold Gifting and Gold Savings marks an important milestone in the company's journey to make gold accumulation more purposeful for Malaysians.
“Whether it is setting aside gold for future aspirations or gifting gold to loved ones, we want to empower more people to start small, stay consistent, and build lasting value over time,” he said.
On the Gold Gifting feature, Tomei Digital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Chia Geh Yang said organisations are constantly looking for more meaningful ways to engage distributors, partners, employees and customers.
"With GoldNow, they can leverage the trust and legacy of Tomei while offering a gift that is easy to send, easy to receive, and easy to appreciate," he said.
On the Gold Saving feature, he said the company aims to make gold accumulation a habit that is accessible, manageable and meaningful for Malaysians.
"By contributing consistently, users can average their accumulation cost across different market conditions while developing a sustainable financial habit that supports their long-term goals," he said.
Moving forward, Chia said the company hopes GoldNow could go beyond accumulation and become a platform that supports meaningful life goals.
"Whether users are preparing for a wedding, Umrah, education or other important milestones, our vision is to help them accumulate towards those aspirations and connect them with trusted partners who can help turn those goals into reality," he said.
Launched in February 2026, GoldNow is a mobile gold accumulation platform developed by Tomei to make gold ownership accessible, simple and relevant for modern consumers. It now enables users to buy, accumulate, save, gift and redeem gold through the mobile platform.
