SERDANG, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- The International Conference on Agribusiness Marketing (I-CAM) 2026 serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, research and innovations in agribusiness marketing and development, particularly in addressing increasingly complex food security challenges at the global level.
The two-day I-CAM, which begins today in conjunction with the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Show (MAHA) 2026, was officiated by Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Chan Foong Hin.
The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) said the conference, themed “Transforming Agribusiness in Addressing Food Insecurity: A Global Approach”, aims to attract 300 participants.
“The organisation of the conference is also in line with the theme of MAHA 2026, ‘Value Creation for Food Security’, which emphasises efforts to enhance the commercial value of agri-food products, expand market access and strengthen a sustainable and competitive agri-food marketing ecosystem,” it said in a statement today.
Seven research papers and agricultural innovation-sharing sessions would be featured throughout I-CAM 2026, with presenters from research and academic institutions from Malaysia and abroad, it added.
“The participation of various institutions reflects the importance of cross-border collaboration in seeking new approaches to strengthen the agribusiness system and food security.
“The second day of the conference will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to share their real-world experiences in developing agri-food businesses. Among the areas of focus are Malaysia’s Best certification, implementation of the agri-food supply chain, development of local brands and enhancement of product quality,” FAMA said.
In addition to academic presentations and industry-sharing sessions, I-CAM 2026 will also feature a podcast session on its second day involving panellists from the industry and the Agriculture and Food Security Ministry.
“This approach provides an opportunity for more interactive discussions by highlighting the perspectives of industry, the government and agri-food sector players.
“Through I-CAM 2026, FAMA continues to play its role as a leader in agri-food marketing by creating a platform that connects research findings, innovation, industry experience and entrepreneurship.
“The knowledge shared at the conference is expected to be translated into practical solutions, improved marketing efficiency and the creation of new value throughout the agri-food chain,” the statement said.
