IPOH, Sept 1 (Bernama) -- The diverse coffee drinking culture of the country's multi-racial community, alongside elements of food, music, art and tourism, will enliven the Ipoh Coffee Vibes 2026 Festival which will be held for four days at the Riverfront Old Town Ipoh next to Jalan Sultan Iskandar here.
State Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee said the festival, which to be held for the first time, is targeting about 40,000 visitors and will take place from Sept 10 to 13.
He said 50 food and beverage stalls will participate in the festival while visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy coffee and watch performances along the Kinta River.
"Also, there will be an opportunity to get to know the story and uniqueness of Ipoh, thus strengthening efforts to make Ipoh a more iconic 'Coffee City' that has had its own identity since time immemorial," he said at a press conference on the festival here, today.
Loh said the Ipoh Coffee Vibes Festival 2026 would not only highlight white coffee but also bring together coffee cultures of various races and styles, including special coffees from the Malay community, Indian kopi tarik, international brands Starbucks as well as various snacks, desserts and foods themed with coffee or suitable for enjoying with coffee.
Loh said at the same time, participating coffee entrepreneurs would introduce 'Kopi Rakyat' specifically for the Ipoh Coffee Vibes Festival to allow the public to enjoy various types and flavours of coffee at more consumer-friendly prices.
He said various special performances combined with the coffee theme included a percussion performance themed to a white coffee shop, a kopi tarik performance, a coffee-themed flying roti canai performance and a flash mob performance of multicultural musical instruments.
"In addition, visitors will also enjoy free white coffee provided by Chang Jiang White Coffee
