KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 1 (Bernama) – The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several areas in Penang, Sarawak and Sabah until 12 noon today.
MetMalaysia in a statement issued at 9 am informed that the areas affected are the Southwest and Northeast in Penang as well as Subis and Miri in the Miri division, Sarawak.
In Sabah, the same warning involves Tawau, Semporna, Kalabakan and Kunak.
“Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in the areas concerned until 12 noon,” according to the statement.
In a separate statement, MetMalaysia informed that Tropical Storm Saudel which was detected about 1,473 kilometres north of Kudat, Sabah, will not have a significant impact on Malaysia.
