PUTRAJAYA, Aug 31 (Bernama) -- The six key initiatives announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in his 2026 National Day Address yesterday take into account public feedback and daily living needs, says Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming.

He said the six initiatives directly benefited the people, covering fuel subsidies, school maintenance, healthcare facilities, artificial intelligence (AI) training, e-Invoicing, and assistance for small traders as well as small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

"The six initiatives announced by the Prime Minister are concrete proof that the MADANI Government listens to the pulse of the people and consistently prioritises their well-being.

"Malaysia's achievements over 69 years of independence would not have been possible without the shared contributions and efforts of all citizens, regardless of race, religion and background," he said in a statement today.

Nga said the spirit of unity and inclusivity should continue to be upheld to ensure Malaysia moved towards a more prosperous, fair and competitive future.

"Malaysia was built by Malays, Chinese, Indians, Dayaks, Kadazans and all citizens, regardless of race or background, working hand-in-hand to develop the nation," he said.

In his 2026 National Day Address, Anwar announced six additional initiatives for the public, including restoring BUDI MADANI eligibility to 300 litres for BUDI95 and 400 litres for BUDI Diesel; adding RM500 million to bring the 2027 school maintenance allocation to RM1.5 billion; and introducing a free three-month AI subscription programme targeting an initial 100,000 youths aged 18 to 30.

Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, announced RM1 billion to accelerate digitalisation across 150 hospitals and 2,000 health clinics; raised the e-Invoicing exemption threshold from RM1 million to RM3 million; and provided RM200 million for Geran Sejahtera MADANI alongside an additional RM1 billion for micro-business financing in 2026, bringing the total financing to RM6 billion.
