BISHKEK (Kyrgyzstan), Aug 31 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said here on Monday that China is making every effort to search for Chinese and foreign nationals who are missing in the mudslide disaster in China's Xizang Autonomous Region, reported Xinhua.
China is also taking all necessary measures to relocate and resettle those affected, provide medical treatment for the injured and prevent secondary disasters, Xi said in his opening remarks when meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
At the same time, China has sent rescuers to Nepal and provided emergency assistance, he said, adding that China is sincerely grateful to President Japarov for expressing condolences over the disaster.
The death toll from the devastating mudslide in Nepal has risen to 903, with 4,247 people still missing as of 9 am local time on Monday, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.
A total of 267 people have been injured, while 20,819 security personnel have been mobilized for search, rescue and relief operations, the authority said.
