Netizens Share Tips For Watching National Day Parade

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- From choosing the best spot and planning transport and parking to preparing mats, mini fans and food supplies, netizens have been actively sharing tips and experiences as a guide for those planning to watch the 2026 National Day parade at Dataran Putrajaya here tomorrow.

A Bernama survey on the Threads platform found that the various tips and experiences were widely discussed, particularly among those who had never attended the celebration and those planning to experience its festivities in person for the first time.

Content creator Che Sayang Kitchen, whose real name is Qayyum Halid, was among those seeking views from netizens on accommodation, parking and strategic locations to watch the parade, with his query receiving more than 99 comments packed with various tips and experiences.

In response to such queries, those who had attended the celebration in previous years were also generous in sharing their ‘tips’, from the importance of arriving early and choosing strategic locations to preparations for those bringing young children.

Threads user @_sakurapurple said she had never missed attending the celebration in previous years and would usually arrive with her family on the afternoon of Aug 30, bringing a mat, umbrella and necessities for her children before spending the night at the location.

Meanwhile, Threads user @_iburumiarya, who is also a Putrajaya resident, recommended that those planning to spend the night in their vehicles choose a safe location, such as the area beneath the Seri Wawasan Bridge in Precinct 8.

“You can use Waze to Sekolah Kebangsaan Presint 8 (2), and opposite the main entrance there is an open area where you can park your car. There are also amenities nearby, all within walking distance. Then you can rest until dawn, after which you can simply walk from the bridge towards the National Accountancy Department (ANM) building.

“If you’re up for it, you can walk to the main stage. But if you have young children, watching from in front of the ANM building is already fine, plus there are more chairs and plenty of food kiosks,” she said.

Meanwhile, preparations for performing religious obligations were not overlooked, with some Threads users reminding Muslim visitors to bring items such as a wudhu spray and prayer mat to make it easier for them to perform prayers while at the celebration venue.

For those choosing to attend on the celebration day itself, netizens also recommended planning their journey early, taking into account traffic conditions, parking locations and the walking distance to the parade area.

The various tips and experiences shared not only help those attending the parade in person for the first time but also reflect the public’s excitement to join in the National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.

The 69th National Day celebration, themed “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, is scheduled to begin at 8 am, with more than 80,000 visitors expected to attend the historic occasion.
