KANGAR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail today proposed three main thrusts to guide Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) personnel in steering the agency towards the future.
His Royal Highness said the first thrust was for MARA personnel to be bold in exploring and leveraging new technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), to enhance efficiency, creativity and problem-solving capabilities.
“MARA should not merely adapt to change, but must be at the forefront of shaping the future,” he said when officiating the 11th edition of the Sukan MARA Se-Malaysia (SUKMAS) at Dewan 2020 here today.
Also in attendance was Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
MARA director-general Datuk Seri Zulfikri Osman was also present.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra said the second thrust was to continue strengthening the entrepreneurship agenda by producing innovative, resilient entrepreneurs bold enough to penetrate international markets, to build more local companies capable of competing and making their mark on the world stage.
He added that the third thrust was for MARA to produce personnel who are bold in leadership, quick to make decisions and strategic in their thinking, adding that future leaders should not merely follow change but emerge as catalysts and drivers of transformation.
Meanwhile, on SUKMAS, he said that the biennal tournament serves as a platform to unite MARA personnel, strengthen ties, build discipline and foster the spirit of sportsmanship.
“By bringing together MARA personnel from various states, backgrounds and roles, sports become a common language that strengthens bonds and reinforces the spirit of togetherness as one MARA family,” said His Royal Highness.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, Zulfikri said the 11th SUKMAS is being held from today until Sept 3, featuring 15 sporting events including football, netball, volleyball, sepak takraw and tennis.
“It involves 3,000 athletes and officials from 14 MARA teams nationwide, and for us, this is a great opportunity for MARA personnel themselves to engage more closely with the community, particularly the people of Perlis,” he said.
