KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Holafly’s Global Team-Building Index has identified Lisbon, Portugal, as the world's leading destination for corporate getaways, driven by its coastal activities, flight connectivity, and competitive costs.

The index ranks destinations based on group activity infrastructure, accessibility, overall experience and value, identifying places where teams can genuinely build connections as the "back-to-work" season approaches.

Lisbon secured the number one spot, as its airport is close to the city centre, while the river and coast provide a setting for sailing regattas and surfing challenges. Barcelona followed in second place, offering large hotel room blocks alongside high-end cultural experiences.

Meanwhile, Central Europe offers compelling alternatives for companies seeking to maximise budget efficiency without sacrificing quality, with Prague and Budapest ranking highly and offering dining, accommodation and venue costs up to 30 per cent lower than Western Europe.

According to Holafly in a statement, as hybrid and remote work become permanent, business travel is shifting toward experiential connections, with organisations prioritising destinations where employees can bond outdoors through activities such as sailing and scavenger hunts.

The company also listed the top 10 team-building destinations for Californians, with Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, ranked first for its direct flights, luxury resorts and premium activities. It was followed by Denver, Colorado, which offers an option for wellness retreats.
