KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s Ambassador to Finland Datuk Amarjit Sarjit Singh presented his Letters of Credence to Finnish President Alexander Stubb in Helsinki on Wednesday, formally commencing his tenure as Malaysia’s fifth ambassador to the country.
In a statement on Thursday, the Embassy of Malaysia in Helsinki said Amarjit is expected to further strengthen the longstanding and friendly bilateral relations between Malaysia and Finland, including cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
During the presentation, the ambassador was accompanied by his wife, Datin Param Git Kaur Pauja Singh, Counsellor Al Fadil Adam and Third Secretary Muhammad Firdaus Jaafar.
Amarjit brings more than two decades of diplomatic experience to his new assignment.
He joined the Malaysian Administrative and Diplomatic Service in 2001 and has since served in various diplomatic and senior positions, both overseas and at the Foreign Ministry of Malaysia.
Prior to his latest appointment, Amarjit served as Malaysia’s Ambassador to Timor-Leste from March 2023 to April 2026.
His other overseas assignments include postings to Malaysia’s diplomatic missions in Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Zimbabwe.
