KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s independence is the result of the sacrifices and struggles of past generations, whose legacy must be cherished and carried forward, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil said.
He said Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, culture or background, must continue to strengthen unity, foster mutual respect and safeguard the harmony that underpins the nation’s strength.
“With a spirit of togetherness and shared responsibility, we can build a more inclusive, prosperous, peaceful and harmonious Malaysia for all,” he said in his 2026 National Day and Malaysia Day message, posted on Berita RTM’s X account today.
Reflecting this year’s theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati”, Fahmi said the country’s progress and prosperity should be a shared responsibility, ensuring that the benefits of development reach all Malaysians.
He also expressed hope that Malaysia would continue to progress as a united nation and command respect on the global stage.
“Happy National Day and Malaysia Day. Let us ignite the spirit of patriotism,” he said.
