KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 (Bernama) -- The Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) fully supports the call by the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah for solat hajat (prayer of need) to be held over the haze situation affecting Sarawak.
Its Minister Dr Zulkifli Hasan said all mosques in the Federal Territories and Muslims nationwide were urged to unite in seeking help from Allah SWT.
“It is our religious duty to show solidarity through the continuous performance of solat hajat and supplications.
“The combination of physical effort and the strength of prayer is the main weapon of the believers, because indeed no test is lifted except with the permission, grace and love of Allah,” he said in a Facebook post today.
He also urged Muslims to take heed of the test by preserving the environment as a trust from Allah, while complying with directives from the authorities to safeguard lives.
“Let us increase our righteous deeds and seek forgiveness and hope Allah will lift this haze test and bestow well-being and clean air once again upon our brothers and sisters in Sarawak,” he said.
Last Saturday, the Sultan of Pahang decreed that solat hajat be held at all mosques throughout Pahang, saying prayers and efforts must go hand in hand in facing the haze situation, which could affect the health and well-being of the people.
