KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad, in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and Masjid Al-Falah in USJ19, Subang Jaya, hosted the Hari Cinta Rasul 2026 Carnival on Saturday to foster devotion to Prophet Muhammad PBUH and strengthen the Muslim community.
Centred on the theme "Menyuburkan Cinta, Mengukuhkan Ukhuwah, Membina Ummah", the 12-hour event drew over 1,000 visitors, and featured a mix of religious activities, family programmes, and financial literacy workshops.
Bank Muamalat President and Chief Executive Officer Datuk Khairul Kamarudin said the carnival demonstrated the bank’s commitment to integrating Islamic values into society through an inclusive approach that benefits all sections of the community.
“We want our love for the Prophet Muhammad PBUH to be expressed not merely through celebrations, but translated into living out moral values, strengthening brotherhood, and caring for those in need.
“We have incorporated elements of social welfare, family activities, and financial literacy into this programme as part of our efforts to play a broader role in building thriving and resilient communities,” he said in a statement today.
He said the approach aligns with the bank’s corporate philosophy of “Better Lives, Together”, which emphasises shared values, knowledge, and mutual benefit to foster social well-being.
As a full-fledged Islamic banking institution, the bank’s responsibilities extend beyond offering Syariah-compliant products to fostering an educated and supportive society, he said.
The event featured a range of activities, including the KAFA Al-Falah Jogathon, colouring and nasyid singing competitions, calligraphy and archery demonstrations, as well as financial literacy pocket talks.
The programme also included the distribution of food baskets to asnaf families and a Kenduri Rakyat that involved over 40 micro-entrepreneurs supported by Bank Muamalat.
The event culminated in a religious forum led by prominent scholar Datuk Dr Haji Zahazan Mohamed in the mosque’s main prayer hall.
The carnival was supported by the Selangor Islamic Book Expo, which ran concurrently from Aug 21 to 23 and provided visitors with access to Islamic literature and educational resources.
Bank Muamalat also donated to Masjid Al-Falah and distributed food baskets, funded by bank staff, to support local low-income families.
