KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 23 (Bernama) -- National men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik stormed into the finals of the World Badminton Championships after they beat world number one pair Kim Won Ho-Seo Seung Jae of South Korea.
The Malaysians put on a convincing performance in the semi final at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, India, needing only 43 minutes to beat the South Koreans 21-17, 21-18.
Aaron-Wooi Yik will play the winners of the other semi-final match between Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang and Lee Jhe Huei-Yang Po Hsuan of Taiwan, scheduled for early this morning.
Aaron-Wooi Yik are playing their second World Championship final, after they won the title in 2022, becoming the first Malaysian pair to do so.
Malaysian mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei won the World Championship in their event last year.
