KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) -- Allianz Malaysia Bhd's net profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026 (2Q FY2026) increased to RM218.65 million versus RM214.04 million in the same quarter last year.
The insurance provider said revenue also rose to RM1.62 billion compared with RM1.52 billion previously, mainly due to higher insurance revenue from general and life insurance segments.
For the six months ended June 30, 2026, its net profit was higher at RM446.00 million, against RM427.07 million in the same period a year ago.
Revenue was also better at RM3.26 billion from RM3.04 billion previously, mainly due to higher insurance revenue from both insurance segments.
As at June 30, 2026, the group's total assets increased by RM724.3 million to RM31.22 billion from RM30.49 billion as at Dec 31, 2025, mainly attributable to an increase in investments in the second quarter.
As at June 30, 2026, the group's total liabilities increased by RM449.7million to RM24.66 billion from RM24.21billion as at Dec 31, 2025, mainly due to an increase in insurance contract liabilities. The increase in insurance contract liabilities was attributable to business growth.
The group's total equity as at June 30, 2036 increased 4.4 per cent, or RM274.6 million, to RM6.56 billion from RM6.29 billion on Dec 31, 2025. This was mainly attributable to the net profit generated for the period ended June 30, 2026.
Looking ahead, the group said it remains focused on executing its strategic priorities and is well positioned to deliver sustainable and profitable growth. It would continue to strengthen its distribution capabilities, enhance productivity across its channels, and leverage its technical excellence in underwriting and claims management to support disciplined portfolio growth and customer value creation.
In addition, the group added that it would continue to invest in digital initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen resilience, and deliver superior customer experience.
