KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 (Bernama) --  The Serian District Police Headquarters (IPD) in Sarawak continued to record a very unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) reading of 241 as of this morning, up from 204 yesterday.

Fifty-six areas nationwide recorded moderate API readings of between 51 and 100, while three other areas recorded good air quality, with readings below 50.

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, while readings above 300 are classified as hazardous.

API data is released hourly based on readings recorded at 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
