KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- The government will launch the Ihsan Rahmah 9.9 online sale on Sept 9 in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the initiative would be implemented with the support of various parties including relevant ministries to ensure that more people benefit from the sale.
"This is as a sign of comprehensive support for 34.5 million Malaysians," he said after officiating the TikTok Shop Summit Malaysia here today.
Also present were Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
Anwar said the sale, which would be held online for the first time, would enable the people to obtain daily necessities at reasonable prices.
The Prime Minister said good economic growth figures must be followed by efforts to solve the people's living problems, including improving the quality of life in terms of education, health, basic infrastructure and cost of living.
Therefore, he hopes that the initiative can be promoted widely so that more people know and take advantage of the offers provided.
The Jualan Rahmah programme organised by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) offers basic necessities at between 10 and 30 per cent lower than the regular prices.
