KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 19 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today paid tribute to photographers in conjunction with World Photography Day 2026, recognising their contribution in capturing moments for people to cherish and remember.
He said the tribute extended to professional photographers, media and event photographers, as well as those who take on the role of ‘official photographers’ for their families and friends during gatherings, with each having their own way of capturing the world and preserving memories.
“We all love beautiful photographs. Some we keep as cherished memories, while others are framed for display. There are also photographs that eventually become historical records and references for the world.
“Yet behind every photograph is someone who observes, waits and chooses the right moment to press the shutter. Sometimes it takes only a few seconds, but the result can preserve a story for decades.
“Happy World Photography Day to all of you. Keep capturing every moment, because today’s photographs will become tomorrow’s memories,” he said in a Facebook post.
