SHAH ALAM, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) continues to strengthen a high-performance work culture by recognising the excellence, dedication, and commitment of its employees through Majlis Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Tahun 2025 (APC) dan Jasamu Dikenang Tahun 2026 event held at the Selangor International Trade Centre (SITC) today.
Its group chief executive officer, Datuk Mahmud Abbas said that the organisation of the event serves as a platform to appreciate employees who have demonstrated excellent performance, high integrity, and continuous commitment in fulfilling their responsibilities.
He said the recognition aims to strengthen a high-performance work culture by celebrating the excellence, dedication and loyalty of the workforce, which are the main drivers of the organisation's achievements and progress.
"We made a few changes and now the APC is awarded based on measurable performance and achievements, including Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and more importantly, we also look at the many PKNS staff who have served for 30 to 35 years.
"When they attend with their spouses and go up on stage to receive their award, we can see the pride radiating from their families, and for that reason, I believe the APC should continue because recognition like this is very meaningful to the employees," he said during his speech at the event.
This year, recognition was given through several main categories, namely the APC, PKNS Chairman's Special Award, Group Chief Executive Officer's Special Award and the Excellent Performance Award for Subsidiaries.
For the APC category, 50 staff members received recognition, while 23 employees received the Group Chief Executive Officer's Special Award in appreciation of their performance and contributions throughout the year of evaluation.
For the APC recipients, each received a certificate of appreciation, a cheque worth RM1,000, and a performance incentive equivalent to an Annual Salary Increment (KGT) for a period of one year, while the recipients of the Group Chief Executive Officer's Special Award received a certificate of appreciation and a cheque worth RM1,000 each.
Meanwhile, the PKNS Chairman's Special Award was given to the corporation members as an appreciation for their contributions and commitment to PKNS, with each recipient receiving a certificate of appreciation and a performance reward amounting to RM1,000.
The recipients of the Excellent Performance Award for Subsidiaries also received a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their performance and contributions in fulfilling their responsibilities within the group.
In the same event, 66 staff members received the Long Service Award, comprising 14 employees with 30 years of service, 20 employees (25 years) and 32 employees (20 years), with each recipient receiving a gold medallion, a premium savings certificate from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and a certificate of appreciation.
The event also celebrated 46 retirees along with their spouses in honour of their contributions and services throughout their tenure with PKNS, with each retiree receiving a gold medallion, a premium savings certificate from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN), a certificate of appreciation and gold pieces.
Meanwhile, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, who presented all the awards, said that PKNS employees need to be prepared to make strategic shifts in facing new economic challenges, including exploring the port services sector and implementing urban renewal programs in Selangor.
According to him, PKNS's achievement in leading the state's development for more than six decades cannot be separated from the contributions of its workforce who have dedicated their energy, ideas, time, and commitment to the organisation.
