KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- FGV Holdings Bhd has appointed Nurul Muhaniza Hanafi as group managing director (GMD) effective today, making her the first woman to lead the company.
In a statement today, the company said Nurul Muhaniza, who has chaired the board executive committee since March, has assumed the functions and responsibilities of the group chief executive officer, providing executive leadership and overseeing FGV’s operations, strategic priorities, and key transformation initiatives.
Appointed to the FGV board on April 1, 2024, as an independent non-executive director, Nurul Muhaniza served as chairman of the board governance and risk management committee, and is a member of the board nomination and remuneration committee and board audit committee.
She is currently a director of MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd, where she is also investment and tender committee chairman. She is also a member of the audit, governance and risk committee and board sustainability committee.
She also serves as FGV IFFCO Sdn Bhd chairman, Cadbury Confectionery Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Nilai Education Sdn Bhd director, as well as a member of Nilai University’s board of governors.
FGV chairman Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid said her appointment as the first woman to lead FGV is a milestone in the group’s history, and reflects the board’s commitment to recognising leadership based on merit and capability while fostering greater diversity and inclusion.
