KUANTAN, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- The Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (TERAJU) has approved nearly RM190 million in financing for Bumiputera companies in Pahang, Kelantan and Terengganu as of early August.
TERAJU chief executive officer Junady Nawawi said the financing reflected the agency’s continued commitment to expanding access to capital and supporting sustainable business growth.
He said TERAJU remained committed to supporting the growth and development of local entrepreneurs on the East Coast.
“Our goal is to ensure Bumiputera companies evolve into investable enterprises, are ready to secure financing and possess the capability to move to the next level, including exploring the capital market and listing on Bursa Malaysia,” he said in a statement.
He said this while speaking at the TERAJU Aspirasi Outreach Pahang 2026 programme at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), Gambang, here yesterday, which brought together nearly 70 government agencies, higher education institutions and industry players.
The programme, themed Realising the Scaling of Bumiputera Companies' Value Creation, was officiated by Pahang FELDA Affairs, Cooperatives and Entrepreneurship Committee chairman Datuk Amizar Abu Adam.
Also present were Deputy Economy Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shahar Abdullah and UMPSA assistant vice-chancellor (Corporate Strategic) Prof Dr Che Ku Mohammad Faizal Che Ku Yahya.
Junady said outreach initiatives such as the TERAJU Aspirasi Outreach Pahang 2026 programme ensured that financing facilities, guidance and strategic networks remained accessible to entrepreneurs in their respective operating areas.
“Through programmes like this, we bring the ecosystem directly to entrepreneurs so they can make decisions and seize growth opportunities more swiftly and effectively.
“This is how we ensure the true value of the Bumiputera agenda continues to reach the grassroots and creates a long-term impact on businesses and local communities,” he said.
The statement also said that the programme focuses on the scaling phase of Bumiputera companies by strengthening business foundations, building capacity, expanding markets and developing capabilities to enable them to grow in a more structured and sustainable manner.
“TERAJU Aspirasi Outreach Pahang 2026 also provided agency matching sessions with synergy partners such as Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Bhd (PUNB) and the Pahang State Development Corporation (PKNP), enabling entrepreneurs to obtain more targeted support based on their business needs,” it said.
Meanwhile, the agency said the collaborative approach was in line with the Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan 2035 (PuTERA35) and the MADANI Economy framework, supporting efforts to strengthen the capabilities, competitiveness and value creation of Bumiputera companies.
“Through outreach initiatives and more targeted interventions, TERAJU continues to strengthen the foundation to enable more Bumiputera companies to grow, expand their markets and participate more actively in the economic value chain of Pahang and the East Coast,” it added.
