UMPSA Raises Over RM7.8 Million For Tuanku Chancellor Endowment Fund

KAJANG, Aug 16 (Bernama) -- Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) and the UMPSA Foundation have raised more than RM7.8 million for the Tuanku Chancellor Endowment Fund through strategic contributions from industry players, the community and alumni. 

The funds were raised in conjunction with the Golf Fillah Tuanku Chancellor Tournament held at Sungai Long Golf and Country Club here today. 

Earlier, the Sultan of Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who is also UMPSA Chancellor, graced the tournament. 

His Royal Highness also launched the logo for the UMPSA Silver Jubilee celebration, marking the university’s 25th anniversary, which will be celebrated next year. 

“Congratulations to UMPSA on the successful organisation of this programme. I am deeply touched by the encouraging response from donors and support from all parties. 

“Thanks to the efforts and commitment of all involved in making this tournament a success, more than RM7.8 million has been raised. This substantial contribution will certainly help UMPSA implement various programmes and initiatives planned for the future,” His Royal Highness said when met at the tournament. 

Meanwhile, the chairman of UMPSA’s board of directors, Datuk Seri Abdul Razak Jaafar, said the amount raised exceeded the RM5 million target, reflecting the concern and commitment of various parties towards supporting education, research and welfare activities for the university’s continued excellence. 

“As decreed by His Royal Highness, Insya-Allah, this tournament will be held annually on a grander scale and involve more contributors. 

“The Tuanku Chancellor Endowment does not only focus on student welfare, but also supports education development, research, innovation, talent development and university facilities to ensure that UMPSA remains competitive,” he said. 

At the same event, Al-Sultan Abdullah also presented prizes to the tournament winners.
