SEREMBAN, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim has been appointed as the new Negeri Sembilan Football Club (NSFC) chairman effective today.
Negeri Sembilan Football Association (PBNS) president Tunku Besar Tampin Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri said the appointment follows the resignation of Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
"Datuk Ismail is known within the Negeri Sembilan footballing fraternity. He has been with this team as team manager and understands the values and identity of the state’s football.
“Now he returns in a different capacity to lead NSFC as chairman. I’m confident that his experience and leadership will help the team through professional, sustainable and competitive club development,” he said in a statement here today.
Ismail served as the state team manager in the 1990s and early 2000s and held the position of PBNS vice-president in 2010.
Tunku Syed Razman said as NSFC chairman, Ismail can lead the club’s strategic direction and strengthen cooperation between NSFC, PBNS, the state government and stakeholders in efforts to develop football comprehensively.
NSFC will continue to focus on building a professional club that is sustainable and competitive, in addition to strengthening player development, club structure, commercial aspects and relations with communities and supporters, he added.
