MELAKA, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- More than 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the three-day Melaka Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Mini Carnival, starting tomorrow, at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) here.
KPDN deputy minister Senator Datuk Dr. Fuziah Salleh said that the organisation of the carnival is part of the ministry's efforts to bring various KPDN initiatives, services, and programmes closer to the community through a more relaxed, interactive and people-friendly approach.
She said one of the carnival's main attractions is the MADANI Rahmah Sales Programme (PJRM), which gives visitors the opportunity to obtain various daily necessities at low prices, thereby helping to ease the burden of household expenses.
"The presence of PJRM at this carnival allows the public to obtain information about government initiatives and directly experience the benefits of the programmes implemented by KPDN in helping the people acquire essential goods at more affordable prices," she said in a statement today.
In addition to PJRM, visitors also have the opportunity to visit various exhibition booths, receive advisory services, and participate in business matching sessions provided throughout the carnival.
An electronic sports (E-Sports) tournament will also be held in collaboration with Todak, along with the Menu Rahmah sale by food truck vendors, a children's colouring competition, performanes by artistes, and an exhibition of antique cars and classic motorcycles.
Various stage activities and family activities will also be provided to ensure that the carnival not only benefits visitors but also offers an enjoyable experience to the community of all ages.
"The KPDN Mini Carnival also serves as another approach by the ministry to introduce the roles and functions of KPDN more closely to the public, especially in aspects of consumer protection, price monitoring, law enforcement, and efforts to address the cost of living," she also said.
In this regard, Fuziah welcomes the attendance of the local community and the public to enliven the Melaka-level KPDN Mini Carnival celebration.
The carnival opens from 10 am to 10 pm tomorrow and on Saturday, while on Sunday it runs from 10 am to 6 pm.
