VLADIVOSTOK (Russia), Aug 13 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Russia sees prospects for a partnership with Malaysia in the space industry, Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov said on Thursday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
The fifth meeting of the Joint Russian-Malaysian Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation opened in Vladivostok on Thursday.
"There are prospects for Russia-Malaysia partnership in the space sector. A Russian company has already built and launched a satellite for Malaysia into orbit," Falkov, the commission's co-chairman, told reporters.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said that Russia and Malaysia also have significant opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector, including liquefied natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas.
