Renaissance KL, Four Points By Sheraton KL Celebrate Mid-Autumn With Unique Mooncake Collections

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre are marking this year’s Mid-Autumn Festival with two mooncake collections that offer distinct approaches to festive gifting, combining traditional flavours with design, craftsmanship and reusable functionality.

Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre’s multi-property general manager, Martin Ehlers, said this year’s Mid-Autumn celebration was a unique initiative by the two hotels, aimed at offering guests a different experience.

He said the initiative provided an opportunity to showcase Malaysian heritage through a contemporary approach, with elements of artistry and craftsmanship incorporated into the festive offering.

“It's really about bringing the storyline that we have Malaysian heritage here in the building. It is really special, and it's with a lot of art, craftsmanship, also design forces available for all,” he said at the hotel’s Mid-Autumn Soiree here yesterday.

Renaissance Kuala Lumpur’s first mooncake collection, Mid-Autumn Opulence, is presented in collaboration with the award-winning design and fashion company, J&Kel Jade & Jewel, and comprises four traditional baked mooncakes accompanied by a limited-edition jewellery set.

The jewellery set features a pearl necklace with a moon-inspired pendant and a pair of earrings with a silver finish, housed in an opal-like jewellery box with a drawer, with the collection limited to 20 sets priced at RM1,368 nett each.

The mooncakes, made with premium halal-certified ingredients, comprise the White Lotus Single Yolk, Pure Lotus Single Yolk, Red Bean with Almond Flakes and Black Sesame Lotus.

Meanwhile, Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, City Centre’s Sichuan Kitchen is offering its Lunar Reverie Mooncake Collection, featuring two sets that combine traditional flavours with reusable packaging.

Lunar Reverie comprises The Artisan Collection priced at RM128 nett for two traditional baked mooncakes presented in a reusable fabric knot bag, and The Signature Collection priced at RM198 nett for four mooncakes presented in a reusable wooden keepsake box.

The Artisan Collection offers six flavour options, namely White Lotus Single Yolk, Pure Lotus Single Yolk, Red Bean with Almond Flakes, Black Sesame Lotus, Green Tea Lotus and Chocolate Lotus, while The Signature Collection features White Lotus Single Yolk, Pure Lotus Single Yolk, Red Bean with Almond Flakes and Black Sesame Lotus.

Both collections offer a 20 per cent discount for orders made by Aug 15, with Mid-Autumn Opulence available for collection from Sept 1 at J&Kel The Salon, Level 1 of Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel & Convention Centre.
