Perak's Record RM15.2 Bln In Investments Reflect MADANI Govt's Commitment - Nga

IPOH, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Perak secured a record RM15.2 billion in investments and attracted 10.1 million tourists in 2025, while maintaining a budget surplus for the fourth consecutive year, Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming said.

The DAP deputy national chairman said the achievement demonstrated the Unity Government’s ability to drive robust economic growth while administering the state in a fair and equitable manner for people of all races.

“The record RM15.2 billion in investments and 10.1 million tourist arrivals are proud achievements for Perak and we must maintain this momentum.

“More importantly, the Perak Unity Government has maintained a budget surplus for four consecutive years, with this year's surplus standing at RM85 million,” he said in a statement today.

He said this while addressing the DAP 60th Anniversary Dinner in Buntong here last night, the statement said.

The dinner was attended by more than 1,500 people, including DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, Buntong assemblyman M. Thulsi Manogaran, Perak Human Resources, Health, Indian Community Affairs and National Integration Committee chairman Datuk A. Sivanesan, Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee Chuan How, Perak state assembly deputy speaker Jenny Choy Tsi Jen and Batu Gajah MP V. Sivakumar.

Nga said the achievement proved that strong economic development and prudent financial management under the MADANI Economy framework could go hand in hand with inclusive governance that benefits all people regardless of background.

He said the achievement also proved that a constructive political approach could deliver tangible results for the people, with Pakatan Harapan remaining committed to strengthening unity, preserving harmony and ensuring that government administration remained close to the people.

According to Nga, the various institutional reforms implemented by the Unity Government demonstrated its willingness to listen to the people’s voice, improve the delivery system and ensure public administration remained responsive to community needs.

“Let us not allow performance to lose out to perception. Let us not allow politicians who play on racial and religious sentiments to undermine the country. The 21st century needs a new politics that builds, not outdated politics that destroys,” he said.

Therefore, Nga called on the people to assess the government’s actual performance and achievements, and not allow politics based on racial and religious sentiments to undermine the country’s harmony.
