WASHINGTON, Aug 10 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- US President Donald Trump announced the appointment of White House Secretary of Staff Will Scharf as White House Counsel, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"It is my Great Honour to announce that, effective September 1st, Will Scharf will become Assistant to the President and White House Counsel, replacing a man, David Warrington, who has done a truly outstanding job as White House Counsel and, before that, for my Presidential Campaign. David will be going on to the Private Sector," Trump said on Truth Social.
The White House Counsel's responsibilities include advising the US president and his administration on legal matters, including the preparation of executive orders, directives, and other presidential decisions.
