KUANTAN, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Pahang Sultan Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah attended the wedding reception of his daughter, Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Ilyana Alia and her husband Christopher Lionel Froggatt, at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by the Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, his elder and younger siblings, and members of the royal family.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail and Shaikh Mohammed Hamad Tahnoon Al Nahyan, representative of the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also attended the reception.
According to a post on the Kesultanan Pahang’s Facebook page, the royal couple took their places on the dais before the ‘Istiadat Menyuap Nasi Semangat’ ceremony was conducted by Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Wangsa Tengku Tan Sri Meriam Sultan Ahmad Shah.
The royal couple then remained on the dais for the ‘Istiadat Bersanding dan Merenjis’, performed by Al-Sultan Abdullah, followed by members of the family.
“His Royal Highness also performed the ‘Istiadat Meletakkan Panca Bicara’ as a gesture of blessing and to honour the newlyweds, before a prayer was recited by Pahang Mufti Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohamed Naim,” it said.
