Tunku Azizah Deeply Saddened By Passing Of TAFF’s First Baby

KUANTAN, Aug 9 (Bernama) -- Tengku Ampuan of Pahang Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, founder and lifetime chairman of the Tunku Azizah Fertility Foundation (TAFF), expressed her deep sorrow over the passing of Jaden Samuel Desen, the first baby born through a TAFF initiative.

According to a Facebook post by the Pahang Sultanate, the late Jaden, who passed away yesterday at the age of 20, held a special place in the history of TAFF as Her Royal Highness’s ‘first grandchild’ to be born following in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.

In an especially poignant detail, Jaden’s parents, Jeremiah Vennga and Phebe Shanty, had waited 17 years before they were blessed with a child, the late Jaden, through IVF treatment with TAFF.

“Jaden’s birth on June 19, 2006, following a long wait, was a deeply meaningful moment for the couple.

“It also became a special memory for TAFF since its establishment, with the foundation’s objective of helping couples facing fertility challenges realise their dream of having children,” the post said.

As such, Jaden’s passing at such a young age was deeply felt by Her Royal Highness, who also extended her condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that they would be granted strength, courage and resilience in facing the loss of their beloved son.

“Jaden’s passing is not only a great loss to his family, but is also deeply felt by the TAFF community, who regard children born through the foundation’s efforts as part of the wider TAFF family,” the post said.
