KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 (Bernama) -- There is an increasing need to promote early intervention and strengthen awareness of preventive healthcare in Malaysia, as arthritis and bone, muscle, and joint-related conditions become more prevalent among the population, according to international health company Blackmores.
Blackmores Group managing director for Asia, Andrew Fuary, said Malaysians should take a proactive approach to their health rather than waiting until medical problems arise.
"At Blackmores, we believe that consumers should not wait until health concerns arise before thinking about their wellbeing.
“Prevention starts with the everyday choices we make, whether through staying active and simply taking better care of ourselves," he said at the launch of JomFit Carnival here today.
Organised by Blackmores in partnership with Caring Pharmacy, the Jom!Fit Carnival serves as an experiential platform designed to educate the public on preventive care and empower individuals to take greater ownership of their health journeys.
Fuary said the wellness event marked a significant milestone for Blackmores as the company brought its "More Health, More Life" vision to life while celebrating 50 years of the brand's presence in Malaysia.
He said the event also featured the 500 Wellness Laps Challenge, an initiative aimed at encouraging physical activity through community involvement.
"The 500 Wellness Laps Challenge reflects the same belief. It is not simply about reaching a number but about recognising that better health is built one step at a time. Every lap completed over the past few days represents a positive step towards a healthier lifestyle," he added.
Meanwhile, Blackmores Malaysia Head of Marketing Chloe Meng said the collaboration with Caring Pharmacy is expected to encourage Malaysians to take a more proactive approach to managing their health.
She expressed confidence that the campaign would also help foster healthier lifestyle habits nationwide.
"Through this collaboration, we hope to raise greater health awareness and inspire more Malaysians to embrace a healthier lifestyle," she said.
