KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today received a courtesy call from The Genron NPO President Yasushi Kudo to continue discussions on strengthening the Asia Leaders Roundtable as a platform for strategic dialogue in addressing regional and global challenges.
The Genron NPO is a Japan-based non-profit, independent think tank.
In a Facebook post, Anwar said the meeting was also aimed at strengthening ties between Malaysia and Japan.
“I also conveyed my appreciation to the Japanese government for the warm welcome and hospitality during my official visit to Japan in June,” Anwar said.
He said Malaysia places great importance on its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Japan, which remains among the nation’s most significant strategic and economic partners.
Anwar also thanked Yasushi Kudo for the invitation to attend the Tokyo Conference 2027 and expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to deliver a video message at the 2026 conference.
The Prime Minister also expressed hope that the close ties between the two countries, as well as cooperation with The Genron NPO, would continue to be strengthened in pursuit of shared peace, stability and prosperity.
