MOSCOW, July 3 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Global prices for fishmeal, used as fertiliser and animal feed, reached a record high in June, while the cost of sunflower and rapeseed oil reached its highest levels since 2022, according to World Bank data, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
The average global price of fishmeal rose 4.9 per cent last month compared to May, reaching US$2,145, an all-time high.
The average price of sunflower oil increased by almost 0.5 per cent month-on-month, reaching US$1,510 per tonne. This is the highest level since July 2022, when a tonne of the product cost US$1,557.
Rapeseed oil rose by around 0.7 per cent from May to US$1,498 per tonne, its highest level since August 2022, when it was priced at US$1,639 per tonne.
The price of lamb increased by an average of 2.6 per cent month-on-month, reaching US$7.47 per kilogramme, the highest since October 2022, when the price was US$7.70 per kilogramme.
