PUTRAJAYA, May 4 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Citizen Management System (mySUWa), launched today, is expected to bring significant benefits, especially for Malaysians overseas, by reducing the need for physical presence at service counters and simplifying processes through Malaysian Consulate Offices.
The Home Ministry said the system would speed up the workflow of the National Registration Department (JPN) through process automation, data integration between agencies, and stronger information security controls, thereby improving the overall efficiency of citizenship service delivery.
“mySUWa is a strategic digitalisation initiative developed in line with amendments to Part III of the Federal Constitution to streamline citizenship application management in a faster, more efficient, and integrated manner.
“Fully developed in-house by JPN’s information technology team, the system offers a user-friendly platform that enables fully online applications, including digital document uploads, real-time status tracking, and automatic notifications to applicants,” the ministry said in a statement today.
The system was launched by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail during the ministry’s monthly assembly today.
In addition to the launch of mySUWa, JPN also announced several key initiatives, including the restructuring of positions at its headquarters approved by the Public Service Department, effective October 29, 2025, as well as the introduction of a new enforcement authority card with multi-layered security features to strengthen enforcement integrity.
As part of efforts to enhance long-term planning, the Home Ministry said JPN has developed the JPN Strategic Plan 2026-2030 as the main guiding document for the next five years and will steer the implementation of organisational transformation initiatives in a more progressive and high-impact manner, in line with the government’s aspiration to ensure JPN remains agile, competitive, and responsive to changes in the public administration landscape and the needs of the people.
