KUCHING, May 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, together with members of Bernama’s senior management, visited Ratnawaty Abdul Hai, widow of Sarawak Bureau photographer the late Muhamad Razali Nordin, at her residence in Taman Sukma, Petra Jaya, here today.

Muhamad Razali passed away at the age of 54 at Sarawak General Hospital (HUS) on April 26.

Nur-ul Afida said Bernama would continue to stand by the late Muhamad Razali’s family, extending welfare support and facilitating the smooth and swift handling of all necessary arrangements.

“Apart from extending condolences, we also presented group term life insurance benefits, cash award in lieu of leave (GCR) payments and related services (entitlements) for the deceased.

“At the same time, we told Ratna that Bernama is making arrangements to expedite the payment of her late husband’s pension,” she said when met by Bernama here today.

Also present were Bernama editor-in-chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj, head of Management Services and Finance Sharifah Zaini Syed Zain, head of the Commercial Department Mastura Hassan, and Photo Marketing manager Fariz Rizal Mardzri.

Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida described the late Muhamad Razali as a highly dedicated staff member who was well-liked by many.

“As I mentioned earlier, the late Razali was a highly dedicated employee. I had known him since he was single until he got married. His passing came as a great shock to all of us,” she said.

Nur-ul Afida also expressed hope that Ratnawaty would be granted strength in facing this difficult time.

“We will continue to extend help should there be any need,” she added.

Muhamad Razali, who hailed from Batu Gajah, Perak, was known as a dedicated and committed person in carrying out his duties throughout his three decades of service at Bernama.

Meanwhile, Ratnawaty expressed her appreciation to Bernama management for their concern over her husband’s welfare, particularly the contributions made through Tabung Kasih@HAWANA.

“I am deeply touched by the contributions and attention given, especially to my husband, who served Bernama for 30 years,” she said.
