Teledyne e2v Launches Compact Imaging Solution For Low-Light Applications

21/04/2026 05:52 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 (Bernama) -- Teledyne e2v, a Teledyne Technologies company and global innovator of imaging solutions, has launched the Caiman imaging module, a small, lightweight, low power solution designed for demanding low light applications.

Built around the OnyxMax sensor, the Caiman module delivers high quantum efficiency, strong near-infrared performance and low noise, enabling high sensitivity in low-light conditions below one millilux.

According to the company in a statement, the module also integrates image processing features such as automatic exposure control, noise filtering, histogram equalisation and binning to maintain consistent image quality.

The module’s compact form factor and low power consumption of under one watt support extended operation, while high-speed performance exceeding 120 frames per second reduces latency for real-time visualisation.

Its MIPI interface enables seamless integration into digital vision systems and compatibility with standard system-on-chip platforms.

These capabilities position Caiman for applications including night vision, surveillance, laser detection and scientific imaging, with CMOS technology ensuring reliable performance across varying light conditions.

Teledyne e2v will showcase the Caiman module at SPIE Defense + Security 2026 in National Harbor, United States, from April 26 to 30.
