KUALA NERUS, Dec 23 (Bernama) -- The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) seized over RM2.8 million products in various operations conducted in Terengganu from Jan 1 till yesterday.
Terengganu KPDN director Mohd Mufsi Lat said the products were seized during 57,326 inspections on 17,923 business premises in the state, including shopping malls, markets, grocery shops and restaurants, with compounds totalling RM353,375 and RM173,200 in fines issued under the Consumer Protection Act 2021, the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and the Weights and Measures Act 1972.
"A total of 20,383 inspections were conducted in Kuala Terengganu; followed by Dungun (13,664); Besut (10,658); Kemaman (7,472) and Hulu Terengganu (5,149)," he said at the Festive Season Maximum Price Scheme (SHMMP) for Christmas 2025 launch here today.
During the launch, he said that nine items, including imported bone-in lamb meat, imported round cabbage, imported China carrots, tomatoes, green peppers, red chili, imported potatoes, big red onions and big yellow onions, were listed under the scheme.
