JASIN, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) has allocated RM1.5 million for the implementation of various community programmes and rural development initiatives in the Sungai Rambai state constituency.

Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the programmes include the three-day Mini Karnival Usahawan Desa @ Festival D’Bendang Melaka 2025 held at Kem Benteng Negara, which concludes today.

“The state government greatly appreciates the close cooperation with KKDW in strengthening the rural ecosystem through economic development, skills enhancement and active community involvement, which in turn serves as a key catalyst for the development of rural human capital.

“I am confident that such an integrated approach will continue to serve as a benchmark for rural community transformation, in line with the state government’s aspiration to build a competitive, progressive and sustainable society,” he said in his speech at the opening of the mini-carnival here today.

The text of his speech was read out by State Housing, Local Government, Drainage, Climate Change and Disaster Management Committee chairman Datuk Rais Yasin.

Ab Rauf said the state government remains committed to strengthening rural development to ensure these areas continue to grow sustainably and competitively.

He said that in the context of Sungai Rambai, the potential for padi-based agro-tourism will continue to be developed through policy support, strategic allocations and close inter-agency coordination.

“Sungai Rambai is indeed blessed with a beautiful landscape and rich agricultural produce, particularly padi-based products, which form the identity of this area.

"Therefore, this carnival is the best platform to introduce and promote local products to visitors from within and outside the state," he said.

More than 100 local entrepreneurs and traders participated in the three-day carnival, which also featured 42 folk games to revive nostalgia, connect generations and bring back sweet memories of the 'old days' across ages and backgrounds.
