WASHINGTON, Dec 18 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- United States (US) President Donald Trump asserted in his address to the nation that the country is on the verge of an unprecedented economic "boom," unlike anything seen before, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
“We're poised for an economic boom the likes of which the world has never seen,” Trump said on Wednesday.
Trump highlighted that after 11 months in office, the US border is secure, inflation has halted, wages have risen, prices have dropped, and America’s global respect is back.
In November, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett forecast that the economic growth in the US might return to the three or four per cent pace in the first quarter of 2026 following a downturn amid the longest federal shutdown in US history.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is the most optimistic about the potential of the US economy's growth in 2026. Earlier this month, he predicted that the US economy would grow by more than four per cent next year.
Meanwhile, a Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia analysis projects real US GDP growth at 1.9 per cent in 2025 and 1.8 per cent in 2026, although in the second quarter the US economy grew by 3.8 per cent, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis of the US Department of Commerce.
