PUTRAJAYA, Dec 6 (Bernama) -- The Ukhwah MADANI segment at the Rancakkan MADANI Programme, hosted by the Ministry of National Unity (KPN), offered visitors an immersive experience in Malaysia’s traditional clothing arts, including the intricate techniques of making tanjak, tengkolok and samping.

A Bernama check found that people from all walks of life, including children, eagerly tried their hand at making traditional tanjak using the songket cloth provided at the KPN booth.

Also featured were a free gold-cleaning service, taking less than five minutes, and an interactive digital portrait-drawing activity.

Mohamad Johari Alfawaris, the instructor for the traditional clothing art activity, said the tanjak-making session had received an encouraging response since the first day of the Rancakkan MADANI Programme.

“The session lasted 30 minutes, and Alhamdulillah, it drew strong interest from participants,” he told Bernama.

Meanwhile, Mohd Syahrizal Zoljefry from Bangi said he was thrilled to try the tanjak-making activity under the guidance of skilled instructors.

“I’ve never tried making a tanjak before, only traditional bunga samping. I didn’t expect I’d get to take it home. It’s been really enjoyable visiting this boot,” he said.

The three-day Rancakkan MADANI programme, which began yesterday, features over 300 public service touchpoints, a career carnival, interactive showcases, family entertainment and special promotions for visitors.

Organised by the Prime Minister’s Office through the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU), the event targets 300,000 attendees. It runs from 9 am to 10 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 9 am to 6 pm on Sunday.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the closing ceremony at 11 am tomorrow.

Building on the momentum of the One Year with the MADANI Government and Two Years with the MADANI Government programmes, Rancakkan MADANI continues the government’s annual tradition of reporting its achievements directly to the people.

Held concurrently is the 2025 National Convention on Public Service Reform, which brings together policy thinkers from the civil service and industry players.
