KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Malaysia in Paris on Tuesday organised the Citrawarna Malaysia: A Symphony of Cultures (Citrawarna Malaisie: Une Symphonie de Cultures) night in conjunction with the launch of the Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign.

In a statement, the embassy said that the launching ceremony was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Malaysia to France Datuk Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim and attracted more than 260 guests, including French tourism industry players, arts and cultural organisations, local media, diplomatic corps and the French public.

“Citrawarna Malaysia was celebrated with great enthusiasm through a variety of performances that highlighted the richness of Malaysia’s cultural heritage.

“Performances included the Gayung Fatani silat demonstration by Silat Culture, traditional dances such as zapin, joget and medley of traditional dances by On Stage Productions, as well as a fashion showcase by Malaysian designer Lynda Chew,” the statement read.

According to the mission, guests were further entertained with sape performances by Eugene Kuek and the presence of caricature artist Olhairy Othman. A photograpy exhibition titled “Short Stories vol.1 – Penang: in between light” by Kenneth Foo also added colour and vibrancy to the evening.

“In a special highlight, the ambassador himself performed silat and walked the runway, demonstrating his support for Malaysian arts and showcasing Malaysian talent on French soil,” it said.

It added that to introduce the flavours of Malaysia, guests were served a selection of traditional Malaysian delicacies, including popia, karipap, pulut kuning, seri muka, bingka ubi kayu, talam suji, along with Malaysia’s iconic beverage, teh tarik.

The embassy said that as one of the main sponsors, Malaysia Airlines brought a touch of Malaysia to Paris through its sponsorship of flight tickets for cultural performers specially flown in from Malaysia, while also contributing prizes for the evening’s lucky draw.
