2025 SEA Games: 10 Sports Moved From Songkhla To Bangkok - OCM

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) today confirmed that competition venues for 10 sports originally scheduled to take place in Songkhla would now be held in Bangkok and Chonburi.

In a statement today, OCM said the venue had been changed due to the severe flooding affecting Southern Thailand.

Meanwhile Secretary General of OCM Datuk Mohd Nasir Ali in the same statement expressed appreciation to all parties concerned about the SEA Games arrangements.

He said OCM was now working closely with the respective National Sports Associations to finalise the contingent’s travel and accommodation arrangements based on the revised competition venues.

“We thank everyone who is concerned about the organisation of the 33rd SEA Games, especially on the 10 sports originally scheduled to be held in the Province of Songkhla, which have now been relocated to Bangkok and Chonburi.

“We will keep everyone duly informed once we receive the official updates,” he said.

The full list of relocated sports and their new venues is as follows:

Muay - Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, Bangkok 

Men’s Football (Qualification Round) - Rajamangala National Stadium, Bangkok

Chess - The Bazaar Bangkok Hotel; 

Kabaddi - Chalermphrakiat Sports Center, Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, Bangkok

Wushu - Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, Bangkok 

Pencak Silat - IMPACT Arena, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok

Judo - Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi Auditorium, Bangkok 

Petanque - Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Bangkok

Karate - Chaeng Watthana Government Complex, Bangkok

Wrestling - Pacific Park Sriracha, Chonburi 

Billiards and Snooker - Thunder Dome, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok
