MYANMAR

 

1. ELECTRICITY OUTPUT RISES AFTER POWER PLANT UPGRADE -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The installation of the coal-drying machine at the Tigyit Coal-Fired Steam Power Plant in Southern Shan State will increase electricity generation. The plant can now produce 120 megawatts  (MW) of electricity from the initial 90 MW.

 

2. CHARTING NEW COURSE FOR MYANMAR-CHINA TIES -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

A conference to chart Myanmar-China cooperation over the next five years was held on Wednesday. The track two event was attended by the business community, scholars, social organisations and the media.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said 15,097 police officers will be deployed to secure the "Trillion Peso March" anti-corruption rallies on Nov 30.

The United Nations has applauded Vietnam for protecting children’s welfare over the years. Child healthcare has improved, with mortality rates, underweight and stunting among children all declining significantly. 

 

2. NEARLY 100 PEOPLE PERISHED IN FLOODS -- VIETNAM NEWS

About 98 people have lost their lives in Vietnam due to heavy floods following strong storms since early November. At least 10 people are still missing.
